Welcome aboard Gadaboat

George Bridger will be your captain, Travis and Rasheem are your hosts/shipmates.  I’m Stacey and I’ll answer your calls and emails, personalize  your Private Day Sailing Charter and make sure everything is prepared and ready.  When you step onboard you will feel relaxed, welcome and in safe and competent hands.

George came to Antigua for sailing week in 1980, bought the beloved s/y Stargazer in 1987, won race week in 1988 and 89, and married his best friend in 1992. All events took place in Antigua which has been home since the I do’s…..

George

started  StatTek a marine electronics and yacht management business at Jolly Harbour  in  1993.  Each weekend we’d go sailing and take our friends along. Over the years there were  many mini jaunts to other islands creating memories for a lifetime. Later on we saw the beautiful charter boats going out EVERY DAY with guests doing the same thing….and thought… “Hey, why should they have all the fun?!”

So a new chapter in life began 5 years ago with the beautiful Gadaboat a 52’ Oceanis…so come along with us for your all-inclusive private day sailing charter and experience the freedom, exhilaration, relaxation, get involved or zone out.  Food, wine, soon to be world famous rum punch, refreshments, snorkeling, swimming, beaching, exploring, sunset, wind in the sails and in your hair….. experience Gadaboating with us. Sail Antigua!!

We are delighted to welcome 30 year old Rasheem Williamson as newest member of the Gadaboat crew. Rasheem is a fun free-spirited individual with a bright as sunshine personality, his joyful smile all over his face is contagious. Hailing from Jamacia, Rasheem moved to Antigua in 2002.  He actively plays  football, cricket, golf and basketball and coaches children’s football.

Your Private Day Sail Charter along Antigua’s southwest shoreline may very well be “the best day ever” yet Rasheem’s mere presence makes it even better

FROM WHELIMENA’s KITCHEN TO OUR TABLE

FROM WHELIMENA’s KITCHEN TO OUR TABLE

Whelimena Austin makes fresh in the morning of each Gadaboat charter her
West Indian Roties, which are stuffed with lightly curried chicken, veggie or
fish/veggie and can be modified for gluten free. Roties are complimented with a
fresh seasonal salad hot sauce, chutney and fried plaintains on the side….. Just
what a body needs after snorkeling or playing in the water. Lunch will be bursting
with the flavor of the islands.
My friend was born in Guyana and grew up with West Indian cooking. She met
the dashing Trevor Austin …. they were childhood sweethearts and got married at
20 then made Antigua their home in 1998.
As Whelimena and Trevor raised their family, she taught pre-school for 17 years
and is also very active in her church as a Sunday school teacher, usher and
ministry coordinator.
The photos are taken in Whelimena’s kitchen in the village of Bolans.
Thank you my friend for always be ready!
